BIG PLANS
We went to church on Sunday and I was totally slapped in the face by the message. It was about boredom and how even when we are busy we can still be bored. Boredom leads to complacency and complacency leads to sin. The story of David and Bathsheba was the example given; David was on an all time high after winning battle after battle, he decided to sit this last one out. He relaxed, he took afternoon naps and he got bored. We all know how the story goes; David gets up from his nap, walks around on his rooftop, sees this stunning woman taking a bath and calls her up to his place (castle? palace? IDK). Bow chicka wow wow, and then David is trying to cover it up, kills Bathsheba's husband and gets consumed by his guilt.
Instead of focusing on the bad thing David did, we focused on what happened in his life leading up to it. Boredom. He had no goals, no plans, nothing he was working towards that was bigger than himself. We were designed for adventure and without a mission/adventure we are ripe for failure.
I was so inspired by this message this weekend that I dove right in when I got home. I've been feeling like God has been putting women on my heart for the last year or so. Last summer I had a really clear message about my fields, and my barns overflowing, spreading the light globally and pouring into women. It's terrifying to me, little 'ol me do something big? No way Jose. But isn't that the point? That God puts God-sized plans on our heart that we know we can't accomplish on our own because we have to lean on Him to get it done.

Well here I am, intentionally laying my heart out there. So that I can't run and push this God-sized plan aside for another project that's more comfortable for me instead. I'm getting it out so that I can have some accountability, for the, "Hey Lex! How's your women's retreat coming along." If you ever run into me at Target, ASK ME! hahah I need the push.
I've sadly found myself far away from living each day with an attitude of "Good Morning God! What can I do for your kingdom today?". Instead, I'm in more of a, "Crap! I have to get out the door, I have to get this done and this done today." and before I know it, the day is over and I'm laying my head on my pillow.
Challenge yourself today and tomorrow and the next day, to ask yourself, "What am I doing today that is bigger than myself, that will impact someone else in a positive way?" and boldly ask God, "Use me Lord, What Can I do for your glory today?". And then when God pours His plans on you, get after it. Don't wait until it's more convenient, don't wait until you have the money, don't wait until you're ready.
Philippians 4:9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me - put it into practice. And the God of Peace will be with you.
Happy Wednesday friends! I want to hear what God has been putting on your heart! What goals and plans are you running from because they're too big? THOSE are the ones that need to take a front seat.
