HOLIDAYS
I hope you all had the best holiday with your family and loved ones. For me, the holidays always make me slow down and look at things with a different perspective. Maybe it's because the kids are a year older and I just want to soak it up or maybe its because we're rolling into another new year and I'm forced to reflect on this past year, that by the way flew by.
We did so many festive things this year and I'm so glad that we did! Lo and I got our baking on this year! I think we baked like 5x times together. It's so fun that she's finally at the age where she won't completely demolish my kitchen and we can make some fun memories baking! One of my favorite memories was making apple pies with my mom when I was younger. She gave me some dough and a couple slices of apple and I'd roll it out with my mini rolling pin and lay the crust in my tiny pie dish. I'm so happy to be able to make memories like this with Lo.
This was also our second Christmas with Blake. She had so much fun actually! She tries so hard to keep up with her sister so if Lo was unwrapping gifts, so was Blake. Also, notice that the whole lower half of our tree has ZERO ornaments on it. Little friend would point and say, "baw" and take the ornaments and run. So after a few days of putting them back or throwing away broken ornaments, I gave in and placed them higher in the tree.
My Dad and my Stepmom got the flu last week so they had to cancel our family dinner on Christmas Eve, so we decided to do our own little family Christmas Eve Dinner, just us 4 and it was a blast. We literally did not go one place for Christmas and it was so so nice. I felt like I got to enjoy the holidays more and relax. I wasn't exhausted and all my wrapping and Santa duties were done way before the big day.
We did our annual Christmas Eve Church Service a couple days early this year in hopes to avoid the massive crowds (we go to CCV and its a big church) and it was a success! Both kids survived (barely) and we enjoyed some good family time.
You guys, I was so prepared for Christmas this year (THANK YOU AMAZON!) that Troy and I even got to go on a day date mid-Christmas week. We saw Jumanji and it was so silly. Def go see it if you haven't already. Follow me on Instagram for daily updates and check out AlexaJeanFitness.com for my fitness routines. Love you guys!
